Texts in interaction: A contribution to the debates on the pragmatic constitution of meaning

Abstract

The chapter concentrates on the analysis of the concept ''meaning''. The most relevant conception is that according to which the meaning of words as well as more complex structures is constituted by actors in interactions (negotiation of meaning).

The use of German as a lingua franca provides evidence of these processes.
