Remarks on the productivity of the suffixes -mento and -zione in Old Italian from the 13th to the 15th century

Abstract

The article deals, within a quantitative approach, with the productivity of two deverbal suffixes in a diachronic perspective. It shows the constant productivity of -mento and the variability of -zione, which is due to the influence of Latin over the period in question
