Abstract

Our own body image is not only based on total count of interoceptions and proprioceptions, besides this, our long life experience has been layed up in our mind as well. Our body image is perceived and experienced by signals of somastesis and kinestesis, meanwhile we meet others including their bodies, their objects.

As a result, we are not able to recognize our real bodies, even feel and experience them. Each part is under focusing social control.

We tend to reach ideal model to be normal and beautiful. So our real bodies have been improved and adjusted by many possibilities including sports, diets and what is more, including plastic surgery treatments.

The corrections of bodily proportions and reductions weight could be prolonged and without reaching even ideal model. Ideal body achievement with the inclusion of thinness would be reached by diet''s control excluding larger breasts and maturing.

Therefore, we compel to choose corrective plastic surgeries. These treatments deal out with bodily proportions, thinness, toughness, maturing.

Nowadays, gender characteristics (feminine/masculine) are mostly represented in physical appearance and accurate attention focusing on it, especially women. The study involved Physical Self and Gender-Self in a group of women, who underwent a corrective plastic surgery in order to change their body''s proportions in a private clinic in Prague.

Results of the research have shown information about caring bodies, their motivations, non-realistic estimation of bodily proportions and perception of self. Conception of their own gender characteristics are also approximating to conception of man in population.

They prefer to be more independent, realistic, enterprising and mentally stable than women in population.
