Abstract

Difficult-to-control asthma (DCA) is defined as a failure in achievement of asthma control after 6 months of diligent therapeutic effort and diagnostic procedures of complicating factors and comorbidities. DCA pactients have poor asthma control and often severe persistent bronchial obstruction.

Current guideline summarizes review of diagnostic methods and therapeutic strategies. These patients should be concentrated in specialized center for DCA management, especially when chronic systemic cortiosteroid therapy for uncontrolled asthma is considered.
