Photon Strength Functions of Medium-weight and Heavy Nuclei

Abstrakt

We present a review of experimental studies of photon strength functions of spherical, transitional and deformed nuclei. The available experimental data on these quantities are compared with model predictions.

The main attention is focused on behavior of E1 photon strength. Problems to be solved are formulated.
