Abstract
Competitiveness is crucial for long-term development of the Czech Republic. Institutions and institutional environment more generally are the foundations of this competitiveness.
Public procurement contracts through their influence on corruption risk play an important role in quality of institutions and therefore competitiveness of the Czech Republic. This article demonstrates the importance of public procurement for institutions and competitiveness of the Czech Republic by showing an evaluation tool of public procurement authorities, zIndex, and one example of a non-transparent public procurement contract.
