Abstrakt
Do two synonyms have the same meaning? How to recognize which of them is appropriate in the certain context? How far are we determined by the context or by the situation when we should choose one of more possible synonyms? The analyses on synonyms base on the German Reference Corpus. The author focuses on three german synonym pairs and explores their occurrence and collocability with other words.
