Anthropology of the senses as a possiblity: An example from a South African township

Abstract

The lecture explores possiblities of the anthropology of the senses for the interpretation of culture. The presented case study deals with young male dance music production in Mamelodi township, South Africa.

It is based on repeated periods of field work conducted between 2006 and 2011.
