N-acetylcysteine Treatment Prevents the Up-Regulation of MnSOD in Chronically Hypoxic Rat Hearts

Abstract

The aim was find out whether antioxidative enzyme manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) can play a role in adaptation of the heart to chronic intermittent hypoxia. The results suggested that MnSOD contribute to the improved ischemic tolerance of hypoxic hearts.
