Imaging mass spectrometry of cuticular lipids of Drosophila melanogaster

Abstrakt

The spatial distribution of cuticular lipids on the surface (head, thorax, abdomen and wings) of Drosophila melanogaster flies has been imaged and studied using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry and scanning electron microscopy.
