Abstract
The process of healing chronic wounds made a great progress in recent years. Today, we have access to new materials, methods and wound management techniques.
It is important for doctors and nurses to be oriented in wound healing practices. It is necessary to have practitioners from both professions specializing in this specific field and to create a special group for chronic wound healing in each hospital.
The authors are presenting their experiences and knowledge from a new ward for chronic wounds started within the Surgical clinic in the Hradec Králové University Hospital as well as their experiences from courses arranged by them under the aegis of Aesculap Academy in Hradec Králové.
