The pious donations of the nobility in the 1st half of the 14th century and the possibilities of their comparison

Abstract
The article deals with the phenomenon of pious donations to the Church during the Middle Ages. The main portion of the text analyses and attempts to classify pious gifts donated by Bohemian nobility in the 1st half of the 14th century.
The purpose was to describe the social and religious purpose of donations. For the sake of better comparison in a broader scope, donations of the nobility from Upper Austria between 1310-1320 were assessed in the same way and were compared with the environment of the Bohemian lands.
