Methodology of Electrophoretic Separations in Short Capillaries

Publication at Faculty of Science |
2011

Abstract

Various methods of rapid electrophoretic separations are presented and discussed. The separations can be performed either in short section of capillaries of common length with utilization of standard electrophoretic systems or in short capillaries in specialized apparatus.

Time of separation can be reduced up to units of seconds with preservation of high separation efficiency using specialized instrumentation. Electrophoretic separations in short capillaries are also very suitable for combination with other flow-through analytical methods, namely with liquid chromatography, flow-injection and sequential-injection analysis to form very efficient 2D analytical systems.
