Abstract

The monograph is dedicated to the recent issues in the International and European private insurance law. The structure of the book follows the historical development of the Insurance law in the European law, International Law, national laws of selected countries and in the Case law of the international (especially of the Court of Justice of the European Union) and national judicial bodies. The book consists of these chapters:

1) European regulation of the law applicable on insurance contracts,

2) European regulation and case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union relating to insurance against civil liability in respect of the use of motor vehicles,

3) Legal regulation on jurisdiction in matters relating to insurance according to the Brussels I Regulation,

4) Selected case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union relating to the international aspects of the insurance law,

5) Principles of European Insurance Contract Law,

6) Arbitration in matters relating to insurance,

7) Insurance contract and conditions in the INCOTERMS(R) 2010 rules of the International Chamber of Commerce and Institute Cargo Clauses
