Abstract
The High Resolution Computed Tomography (HRCT) of the lungs is currently an essential imaging method in diagnostics of lung diseases. Due to the excellent spatial resolution of HRCT which enables visualisation of details of pulmonary architectonics to the level of septas of secondary lung lobe and centrilobular bronchioles and arteries, which represent structures that are smaller than one millimeter.
Despite the undeniable benefits it would be erroneous to accept the findings of HRCT examinations entirely uncritically. This article summarizes the differential diagnosis of the HRCT findings and differential diagnosis of most common lung diseases.
