Abstract
The author observes that the contemporary French medieval studies are so varied that when describing it we can only show some of the most considerable trends. Based on his personal experience he explains how distorted view of those trends the Czech scientific milieu has and notifies of the possibilities which are currently for the Czech medievists offered in order to get in touch with the French historiographical cuisine.
