The importance of the course of the River Danube for the development of southern and western Bohemia in prehistoric and early historical times - an outline

Abstract

Southern and western Bohemia, once relatively poor in archaeological finds compared with the other regions of the country, sometimes show sings of a different cultural developmen. Today, in the light of numerous new finds and observations, the often decisive relationship between these twolarge regions of Bohemia and the Danube River valley can be seen more clearly.
