Making of ERA in the fields of social sciences and humanities: the contribution of new Member States

Abstract

The challenges and constraints for research cooperation of new EU member countries within the EU research programs are analysed. Several factors are taken into account: transformation of national research system, position of social sciences and humanities within whole pattern of sciences and institutional changes.

In conclusion assets of social sciences in CEE countries, which can be mobilised in favour of European research co-operation, are assessed.
