The Waxman-Markey American Clean Energy and Security Act as a compressive reform of the United States environmental and energy policies

Abstract

This article primarily deals with the new H.R. 2454, the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009, so-called "The Waxman-Markey legislation draft." This legislative draft can be considered as very progressive and comprehensive energy legislation. According to presenters, this legislation would create millions of new clean energy jobs, save consumers hundreds of billion dollars in energy costs, enhance Americas energy independence, and cut global warming pollution.
