This study consists of two parts: Firstly, the biography of Nicolaus Puchnik (+1402), general vicar of Prague archbishopric and author of procedural canon law treatise Processus iudiciarius secundum stilum Pragensem is discussed. Puchnik's life and his activities as professor of canon law at the University of Prague are addressed as well as his work as general vicar and his beneficial agenda.

The second part of the study deals with the treatise Processus iudiciarius secundum stilum Pragensem. Here, the genesis of the work, its importance, and use are analyzed.

This treatise was written by Puchnik during the 2nd half of the 1380s. It managed to connect a theory of procedural canon law and applied education at the university.

Currently, there is evidence of 15 manuscript copies of this treatise.
