Pharmacotherapy of bleeding in portal hypertension

Abstract

Acute variceal bleeding is one of the most important portal hypertension and liver cirrhosis complication. The recommended pharmacological treatment of this life threatening event is presented.

Primary and secondary prophylaxis and other nonpharmacological approach is discussed too.
