Abstract
In this paper we study the use of interjections in various types of written texts (professional, non-fictional, journalistic, fictional and written dialogical texts on the Internet) and in dialogical spoken speech. Investigating the use of interjections in witten texts we draw on corpuses SYN2000, SYN2005 and SYN2006PUB, further we put to use own excerptions and experiences with written texts.
In examining the spoken speech, we extracted data from the Czech National Corpus, we excerpted some TV discussions, talk shows and everyday spoken speech. We focused on a frequence of interjections in a text type, on preferred idioms and their kind.
At the close of the paper we confront our results with informations given in Czech dictionaries.
