Abstract
The integration of the Czech Republic in the European Union was a highly complex process, which took fourteen years. The article describes its particular periods.
The main attention is dedicated to the constitutional aspects, especially essential constitutional amendment from 2001 and the implementation consequent referendum about joining of the Czech Republic in the European Union in june 2003.
