Abstract
Future Czech language and literature teachers should have such competencies to be able to handle the communication approach to the subject together with the development of reader and functional literacy. Teams from the Czech Literature and Czech Language Departments of the Faculty of Education of the Charles University in Prague have therefore come up with new testing of didactic competencies of state final examination candidates.
