Abstract
The paper summarizes the work of the professor of Prague Slavic studies M. Kvapil who dedicated his entire professional life to pedagogical activity and study of the cultural relations between the Yugoslavs and the Czechs.
His interess was primarily directed to the Croatian modern literature. As the head of the Department for Slavic Studies in Prague, he primarily pleaded for the functional cooperation between the university Slavic centres.
