Abstract

The case study focuses on comparison of the two forms of the sport movement from the kinesiological point of view. Through surface electromyography we investigated changes in intermuscular and intramuscular coordination in kayaking and riding in a paddling tank.

The results show noticeable difference in the nature of muscular work of some muscles. The most significant changes in the timing of muscle activation were recorded in m. serratus anterior and changes in muscle function of m. obliquus abdominis externus as well.

The study results show that paddling tank - as a training tool- properly stimulates activation of phase muscles with some differences in providing posture, because it is a more stable environment than when paddling on water.
