hp-discontinuous Galerkin method for compressible flows

Abstract

The paper deals with a numerical solution of the compressible Navier-Stokes equations with the aid of the high order discontinuous Galerkin finite element method (DGFEM). In order to increase the accuracy and the efficiency of this approach, we develop a new hp-adaptation technique, which is based on a combination of an error indicator and a regularity estimator.
