The discussion paper examines how Poland''s presidency of the Council of the European Union presents the country with an excellent opportunity for strengthening the recognition of democracy support as a strategic objective of EU foreign policy, particularly in light of Poland''s transitional experience and more recently-aquired expertise as a provider of democracy assistance.
