Abstract
The article first presents a personal and professional biography of Josef Úlehla (1852-1933), an important Czech teacher at primary and secondary schools. Then it analyzes the context, historical background as well as reviews of his monograph entitled Dějiny mathematiky.
In the end, the text briefly mentions other Úlehla's works and their possible overlap into the present.
