Abstract

Using T2 weighted images with interpolated resolution matrix of 1024 x 1024 pixels, it is possible 20 examinations were evaluated, the structural differences between precentral and postcentral gyri were assessed All examinations were performed using 3T MRI with dedicated 20-channel head coil using turbo spin echo sequence. In 18 of 20 examinations, layering of the grey matter was observed.

Thanks the differences in layering was possible to distinguish the motor and sensitive cortical areas. Using T2 weighted images with interpolated resolution matrix of 1024 x 1024 pixels is possible to distinguish layers within the grey matter, which differ several myeloarchitectural areas of brain cortex.
