Abstract

15 patients with head and neck malignacy underwent 18F-FLT-PET/CT during radiotherapy All examinations were performed after intravenous administration of 18F-FLT in the dose of 1.8 MBq/kg and after 60 min accumulation phase. The imaging included full-diagnostic MDCT.

The impact on the patient management was evaluated from the point of view of further radiotherapy planning. In three patients, the residual proliferative tumorous tissue populatin was confirmed.

The finding induced escalation and focusation of the radiotherapy into the sites of proliferation. The radiotherapy effect could be observed with the use of 18F-FLT-PET/CT and findings are suitable for radiation dose escalation planning.
