Non-traditional experiments from the area of electricity and magnetism (not only) for high school students

Abstract

The paper presents three non-traditional (not only) demonstrational experiments from the area of Electricity and Magnetism. Motivation for the first experiment - Rotating can - was taken from video on YouTube.

The goal of the experiment was to measure the force between charged straw and a can. Second experiment demonstrates behaviour of diamagnetic and paramagnetic material.

Last experiment shows non-traditional uses of electric transformer including the fact that coil do not need to be made only from a wire. All three experiments can be used in different types of school and are used during future physics teachers training.
