Abstract
An important publication, which was nominated at Prize of the Rector of Charles University in Prague.The publication presents a collection of studies of a historian of science, Zdeněk Horský (1929-1988). It summarizes the results of author's long-time research concentrated around the problem of the formation of modern European science and the development of cosmology and astronomy from 15. to 17. century.
The collection contains both published and unpublished texts.
