First experience with positron emission tomography in cancer of the head and neck

Abstract

PET-CT is a modern diagnostic method based on fusion of positron emission tomography and computed tomography. The whole body PET-CT have good diagnostic performance not only in initial staging of head neck carcinoma, but also for evaluation of recurrent cancer.
