Congenital hypothyreoidism

Abstract

Congenital hypothyroidism occurs in about 1:3000 newborns. Prevalent is abnormal morphogenesis, the hormonogenesis is affected in 25%.

Neonatal screening in the Czech Republic allows early detection and treatment of thes newborns. Prognosis of children with congenital hypothyroidism is excellent.
