Experiments - one of important priorities in teaching physics

Publication at Faculty of Mathematics and Physics |
2011

Abstract

The ongoing educational reforms emphasize various aspects, forms and methods of teaching/learning process, as well as different goals, for example the development of key competences. The purpose of this article is to advocate that in turmoil of any reforms we should not forget the importance of one component of teaching and learning of physics - real experiments.

Some problems and challenges concerning school physics experiments in changing world around us are mentioned. And, not to be only theoretical and pessimistic, the article presents a few examples of simple but hopefully inspiring experiments for teaching physics at various levels.
