Russia as a threat? : The beginning of negative image creation of Russia at Czech public, 1848-49

Abstract

The study deals with the negative picture of Russia in the first half of the 19th century among the Liberals and with the questions which impact the Russian foreign policy in the first half of 19th century had on it, if this point of view changed during the Revolution of 1848/1849, who spread the negative picture of Russia and which relation had the Czech public to Russia before and during the Revolution of 1848/1849? The study analyses also the feedback of the Russian intervention in Hungary 1849 and the changes of the view of the Czech public on the East European power in connection which the Revolution of 1848/49.
