Abstract

This is a book about the life and work of Karel Zahradník (1848-1916), a Czech mathematician and professor of mathematics. His scientific, teaching and popularizing activities in Prague, Zagreb and Brno are described.

His publications (papers, textbooks, monographs, litographies, etc.) and mathematical achievements in the geometry of curves and surfaces are analyzed in the context of the world development.
