The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute operates phenological network with 45 wild plants' observing programme. Results of phenophase onset (period 1991 - 2010) were executed and created into maps, charts and tables with chosen pheno-climatological characteristics as a part of prepared Phenological atlas of Czechia.

In chapter Wild plants - herbs were chosen on the whole 15 herbs (CALTHA palustris L., ANEMONE nemorosa L., HEPATICA nobilis Mill., RANUNCULIS acris L., FRAGARIA vesca L., HYPERICUM perforatum L., CHAMERION angustifolium (L.) Holub, VACCINIUM myrtillus L., LAMIUM album L., CHRYSANTHEMUM leucanthemum L., TUSSILAGO farfara L., CONVALLARIA majalis, GALANTHUS nivalis L., DACTYLIS glomerata L., ALOPECURUS pratensis L.) with subsequent vegetative and generative phenophases (first leaves, inflorescence emergence, beginning and end of flowering, fruit ripening) for elaboration. The list also includes allergology important species as DACTYLIS glomerata L. and ALOPECURUS pratensis L. from Poaceae family.

In Europe, the overall prevalence of hay fever is approximately 15-20% (and grass pollen is considered to be one of the most important aeroallergens (Huynen et al., 2003; Sanchez-Mesa et al., 2003) affecting up to 90% of hay fever sufferers. Phenophase onset and pheno-climatological characteristics were compiled also at different altitudes.
