The article examines human rights monitoring mechanisms in Asia and America. The issue of human rights and possible future monitoring mechanisms of its protection in the Asian region developed in last years in many ways.
There are many new sub regional institutions created rather than a regional one and the risk of their potential overlap may appear. The article concludes that there is no present risk of overlap, but the issue must be followed carefully in the future, especially if a regional protection mechanism is created.
The article then examines the protection mechanisms of American region, mainly the Inter-American Commission of Human rights. As there is no risk of overlap of different monitoring mechanism, the article focuses on the practise of the mechanisms.
