Publication at Faculty of Science |
2011

Abstract

The growing dimensions of urban space and its penetrat on into open landscapes is one of the most dramatic and intensive processes occurring not only in Czechia, but also in most European Union countries. This process brings a series of negative effects, impacting landscape processes and their natural, cultural, historical and esthetical value.

Within our country's territory, the expansion of urban space is clearly evident and amounted to 246 km2 for the period from 1990 to 2006.
