Abstract

The Czech mathematician Eduard Weyr published his famous results in matrix theory in the 1880s. Expositions of Weyr's theory have been given by many mathematicians all over the world.

We describe works which were written by the Czech mathematicians Otakar Borůvka, Jiří Čermák and Miroslav Novotný. They interpreted, extended and generalized Weyr's theory.

Moreover, we introduce works in matrix theory which were published by Bohumil Bydžovský in the first half of the 20th century.
