Abstract
The exile from Czechoslovakia related not only to researchers and scientist heading west. The chapter concerns the case of Vladimír J.A.
Novák and his scientifically motivated escape to the Soviet Union. It focuses on Novák's motivations and history of his anabasis.
It shows also some personal and professional consequences for Novák's further scientific career. Novák's life and work (with his principle of sociogenesis) in the sixties are emphasized.
