Notes to the "Bohemian types of acanthus" : Essay on art-historical terminology of the Medieval Illumination 2

Abstract
The paper follows the problem of the beginnings and evolution of the acanthus ornaments of the 14th - 16 th centuries, most of them were an original invention of the Czech illuminators. The context of the contemporary sculpture and monumental painting is also studied, as well as their potential impact on the foreigner book production.
Problems of content intepretation of the acanthus in the period art are also followed, as well as context of Antique and succesive Renaissance tradition.
