Romantic Influences on the beginnings of the Russian Slavophile Movement

Abstract

This chapter examines the influence of romantic thinkers, especially Fichte and Schelling, as well as de Maistre and de Bonald, on the intellectual development of two leading members of the Slavophile movement, Kireevsky and Khomakov.
