Abstract
Michael Ruse evaluated the heritage of Darwin from the perspective of the current philosophy of biology. The article focuses on broader context of the history of biology and discusses its current trends.
The fundaments of Darwinism are investigated from philosophical and biological point of view. Special attention is dedicated to relation of evolutionary biology and religion.
