Abstract
The empirically oriented study summarizes the process of creating the Czech version of the generic questionnaire IPQ-R-CZ (Revised-Illness Perception Questionnaire) that examines the patient's concept of illness. The questionnaire has three parts: A - health problems the patient (14 items), B - the patient's concept of illness (38 items), C - patient's opinions of the causes of the disease (18 items).
The second part of the study describes the process of creating the shortened version - the IPQ-R-CZ (Brief) that has only 20 items. In the third part it summarizes the clinical evaluation of this abridged version.
