The rich nuances in Finnish or the subtile ones in Swedish? The bilingual author and artist Henrik Tikkanen

Abstract

The study maps out the bilingual dimension in Henrik Tikkanen's works. After the reflexions about the author's unreliability as Finland-Swede the study describes his bilingual roots that led to a completely bilingual authorship (Swedish, Finnish) with the point of departure in Tikkanen's journalist activity.

The following parts of the study put the question, why some of his books are written in Swedish and some other ones in Finnish concerning the problemme of "reproduction of the reality".
