Microstructure of hot rolled and cast Fe-Al-Si-C Alloy

Publication at Faculty of Mathematics and Physics |
2011

Abstract

The iron aluminides with an increased content of silicon and carbon are used for structural purposes in the cast state. A special method of hot rolling of laboratory castings from the researched alloy was developed, preventing the origin of surface cracks in contact with the cold work rolls and enabling forming this material with extremely low plasticity.
