Abstract

The interpretation of the pre-Late Carboniferous geology along the contact of the Saxothuringian and Teplá-Barrandian zones, based on compilation of the geological and depth measurement data from 12 134 exploration boreholes in the area covered by younger sediments and volcanics in the western Bohemian Massif. The resulting compilation shows the relief of the sedimentary basins basement and interprets the real extent of the basement geological units with their affinity to the Saxothuringian or Teplá-Barrandian zones, as well as the different timing of metamorphism in these units during their Variscan tectonometamorphic history.
